Product Design

Precision KVB has a structured approach to product design which is divided into three phases:

Concept Evaluation: Testing design concepts early on minimizes risk by revealing obstacles that impact the product. First step is to do a 3D model of the design. Once complete, we meet with the customer to review results and discuss design decisions that may impact the product.
Prototyping & Design Finalization: Once design candidates are finalized, we develop a functional prototype for evaluation purposes. This will help in optimizing design for manufacturing, testing for functionality and for studying material options
Reverse Engineering: To lower product development risk and increase speed to market, many engineering designs build-off of existing solutions using existing, non-proprietary solutions. This work is especially important for technical products and complex mechanisms.
CAD Development: The last step is to create detailed CAD by identifying critical to function dimensions after considering manufacturing process limitations and tolerance analyses. This will ultimately determine product robustness and quality.

Product Design at Precision KVB is carried out by experienced engineers and is assisted by the latest CAD/CAM facilities such as Pro-E Wild Fire 11.0, AutoCAD LT to meet the requirements of customer product demands.

Assembly, Testing, Finishing and Inspection: Complete, Precise and Customized

Assemblies:
Precision KVB can assemble any combination of plastic, rubber, electronic and metal components. We can add purchased components to the items we manufacture. Our in-line assembly is fast and efficient. We can add multiple components to an assembly on the production line. We use different joining techniques like adhesives, soldering, heat staking, ultrasonic welding, spot welding, screwing and riveting. We cure adhesives in temperature-controlled ovens to reduce lead times. We can also use epoxy to protect electronic parts.
Working with Quality Vendors:
Precision KVB has the contacts and experience to source components. We maintain an approved and audited supplier list. We reevaluate sourced components annually to manage cost and check for alternatives.
Inspection and Testing:
Quality starts before the work begins. We inspect incoming components before moving them to assembly. Other inspection and testing operations include Endurance Testing, Electrical Resistance Check, Form/Fit Check, Functional Testing and Pressure/ Temperature Checking.
